My name is Jodie and I would like to welcome you to my blog tracking my progress with my lovely ponies. Yes, I have to pinch myself often to realise how lucky I am. The stars of the show;
- Double Dice, (Dice) – 17yrs, 14.1hh, Appaloosa x ? Job Description – Showjumper. I’m certain there’s a small piece of my soul in him. I’ve had him since he was 9 and I – 15. Couldn’t bare to part with him when a year later I became a ‘senior’ rider. I’ve had many fantastic years jumping him but he is steadying up now in his latter years.
- Crownhill Smoke, (Storm) – 11yrs, 14.2hh, Connemara — Job Description – Eventer. The love of my life. He’s got my heart. He introduced me last year to the sport of eventing. Thanks to Dice I have done a lot of showjumping, as Dice has steadied up a little, I felt I wanted to try eventing. It could not have gone better thanks to Storm. An absolute angel, he is brilliant and has given me endless courage and helped me gain skill in xc riding.
There you have it, my heart and soul 🙂
I have some Parelli training under my belt and try to use this in all manner of my equestrian activities so I often describe my horses based on their horsenality profiles; a Parelli-based behaviour categorising system to best help how to educate and work in the most effective way for the horse. I can’t speak for everyone but for me, it has been a flawless system.
